There are all kinds of documented testimonials about how the Heart had to bypass all kinds of logic/geometry/physics in order to make something extraordinary happen…There is the science and the controversies about what is the physical controlling factor in the human body. Is it the brain? Is it the heart?
Depends on how you are wired, depends on how you look at life…if you are more logical, the brain is what you listen to. If you are more romantic/creative, you listen to your heart…There is a collaboration between the brain and the heart, that is certain, but it is the heart that is the rocket fuel for your dreams.
• Your heart beats 101,000 times a day. During your lifetime it will beat about 3 billion times and pump about 800 million pints of blood or about 1 million barrels -that’s enough to fill more than 3 super tankers.
• Blood takes about 20 seconds to circulate throughout the entire vascular system.
• The adult heart pumps about 5 quarts of blood each minute – approximately 2,000 gallons of blood each day – throughout the body.
• A typical athlete’s heart churns out up to 8 gallons of blood per minute.
• Your heart beats about 100,000 times in one day and about 35 million times in a year. During an average lifetime, the human heart will beat more than 2.5 billion times.
• Your body has about 5.6 liters (6 quarts) of blood circulating through the body three times every minute. In one day, the blood travels a total of 12,000 miles -which is roughly four times the distance across the U.S. from coast to coast.
• Your system of blood vessels – arteries, veins and capillaries – is over 60,000 miles long. That’s long enough to go around the world more than twice!
• The Heart produces enough energy every day to drive a truck for 20 miles.
•Your heartbeat changes and mimics the music you listen to…
•Couples who are in Love synchronize their Heart rates after gazing into each other’s eyes…
Then there’s heartbreak and we will all experience heartbreak many times in our lifetime. Heartbreak can be associated with disappointment, tragic loss, or extreme joy. There are times you feel as if your heart will break from so much love.
Our hearts are meant to break-the heart is meant to expand to include all that life has to offer. We sometimes feel too much love or too much sorrow but we are being asked to expand our capacity for heartbreak as to grow a bigger, more open heart. You can’t squeeze new losses and new joys into your existing heart. The heart must expand its capacity as your life expands.
The heart changes in concert with the music you listen to, the conversations you have, the environment you are living in, the contributions you are making.
The heart is reflective and responsive.
