We are back out-released from the stranglehold of Covid. More emotionally and structurally, as Covid and every other virus is still very real and persistent. Covid is more of an integrated part of our lives, like paying taxes.
We adapt. We go on, maybe not with as much verve, but everyday we get up and try to figure it out.
As 2023 beckons us, we are hopeful. We look to signs, astrology, and indications that we are going to have a better year. Let’s not quite go to good, but certainly better.
Leadership notwithstanding, we must look to ourselves-not the dangerous coconuts that are in positions of power.
It’s epically concerning how the human divide that exists between us has seemingly become catalysts for violence.
The mental and emotional health crisis has to take center stage, and has to start at the source of the problem.
We all have cultural demands that are pulling at us:
Successful relationships/Partnerships.
Finding love.
Maintaining love.
Staying fit.
Staying healthy.
Staying vital.
Having a career.
Making money.
Balance.
Charitable contributions.
Peer pressure at whatever age.
Transitions/getting out of something/getting into something.
To move or to stay.
What to follow/who to follow.
Healthy parenting/where you have something to say and where it’s best to keep it to yourself.
IT’S A LOT…
So what is the prescription;
ACCEPTANCE.
ALLOWANCE.
HAVING STRONG INTENTIONS.
BEING CREATIVE.
These might seem like contradictory qualities, but these are the ingredients that make for a successful life. Like Peanut Butter and Jelly, and most unusual food combinations, it’s the ability to hold and see the value/benefit in seemingly contradictory compounds that yields the magic that is life.
To a bold and gracious year.
