The presidential debates came as no surprise. The fact that so many political pundits were surprised, is in fact the most disturbing part of it all.
I feel sorry for the candidates. I feel sad for them. I don’t think that’s the feeling you want in your presidential candidates. To put Joe Biden in that situation by his own party is elder abuse as far as I am concerned. That must have been the most painful night of his life. The only surprise was that Donald Trump didn’t go entirely nuclear, other than that it was predictably heartbreaking.
I am feeling very nostalgic. Could be my age or that I just had my 73rd birthday, but I am looking back at when I was younger and free and the world was possible.
I long for that feeling. I ache for that feeling. Proustian moments are a seemingly more comforting passenger than the onslaught of present day entitlement.
Between the raindrops is where I am finding ease-mediation and child pose-pockets of well-being is the attempt.
