I feel like we are living in an alternate universe, where what you once knew and counted
on has become a foundation of uncertainty. It’s so easy to forget that we are a “Blue
Marble” moving through space at 67,000 miles per hour as we orbit the sun.
I have to refer back to my past quotes at this time:
WHAT’S UP IS DOWN
WHAT’S DOWN IS UP
WHAT’S LEFT IS RIGHT
AND WHAT’S RIGHT IS LEFT UP TO GOD
Who knew that the high state of anxiety that we have experienced globally for the last
two years would be the penultimate and that the cinematic(marvel) projections of
apocalyptic worlds would become an unfortunate reality. Yea life imitating art, or is Art
directing life? Either way maybe LIFETIME should start making big budget movies.
I am being glib but that’s not really the case because I am scared and heartbroken and
grieving. There are many dimensions to my grief. For the world. For my kids. For LA
and the people who have lost so much. Most of us who come from other cities, other
countries don’t come to build a family. LA is not the first choice as a place to raise your
family but nevertheless so many of us have. Many of us come with a particular purpose
but there also are so many who come and discover their purpose. LA is a city that
allows one to come as one thing and find they’re destined for something else. This is a
city that has given so much to so many. Not just in terms of wealth and opportunity but
in terms of community and lasting friendships. This is a city of entitlement but it’s also a
city of privilege, where so many strive to be great parents, great people, great leaders. I
know no other city that has given so much to so many and people are drawn to LA in
the form of dreams and tour buses for just that reason.
The city has been hit and it’s time to dress the wounded.
It’s time to give back to a city that has given so much.
