We walk by people every day making snap judgements. How they look, an attitude, a way someone’s dressed.
We don’t have a clue what might be going on in that person’s life. They might have lost a job that they loved or extenuating circumstances have put them into a compromising position or worse, they might have lost a child or the love of their life. We don’t know.
We just do a quick scan and then do so some sort of back-flip into our mental and emotional filing system and regurgitate an assessment and call it perception or intuition.
If we think about our collective drive as human beings, it’s the desire to be seen, to be known and yet, what we don’t offer, we cant expect to receive.
Dreams are decidedly different for all of us but our heartbreaks, our need to be seen, are elemental to all of us.
It starts with the people we love and concentrically goes out from there.
To see another’s essence rather than get entangled in their behaviors, their affects, takes some dedicated practice and a whole lotta love.
And we could certainly use more of both.
